Why Should I Go to Girls State?

There are many reasons why you should attend Girls State. We've got the top ten right here– but ask a previous Girls Stater for her thoughts and she'll give you more than ten!

1. Have Fun! Meet people, learn things and experience what you never have experienced before.

2. Win Scholarships: Apply for and win several scholarships available only to Girls State participants.

3. Prepare for College: Learn by doing and participating, not by reading a book.

4. Explore Careers: Open your eyes to careers you've never considered before.

5. Get Inspired: Hear from women who have changed their world.

6. Live on a College Campus: See what's it's really like to share a dorm room and eat at a dining center.

7. Win a Trip to Washington, D.C. : Two girls will be elected to represent North Dakota at Girls Nation with an all-expense paid trip to the Nations capitol!

8. Boost Your Resume: Improve your chances of winning scholarships or of being accepted to universities.

9. Use Your Talents: All talents (debate, writing, theatre, etc.) can be put to good use

10. Networking : Meet other women from all over North Dakota
