Registration Time!

The Girls State Program is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. A Girl Stater needs to be sponsored by a Unit to attend. Don't have a unit in your town? No problem! Contact Dana Thoreson, Girls State Director by April 30th, 2012 at girlsstatend@gondtc.com and she will help find a sponsor.

By sponsorship, we mean that they will tag their Auxiliary Unit number on your application – the fee is $200 if received to the Jamestown office by April 30, 2012 ($225 if received after).

By contacting Dana, Girls State can try to locate other funding sources. Some Auxiliary Units have the ability to pay the fee for other Units that may not have enough funding to send someone, or may be able to help a unit that has more women interested in attending then funds are available. Another funding option is to personally pay the fee or seek funding from local groups such as a Kiwanis or Lions Club. Don't let the registration fee prevent someone from attending Girls State– contact Dana if needed! So, ready to apply? Download the Registration and Medical/Physical cards. Fill them out and send it to the address listed on the bottom of the Registration card.
